There are varying levels of ugly in this car hobby we all know and love. There’s cool ugly, like, say, an Edsel. Then there’s ugly ugly that (and we know there’s some of you who love them but…) is best embodied by the early 1960’s Virgil Exner styled Chryslers. This truck seems to be walking the line between the two.
It’s an oddball 1952 International pickup truck. We can’t say that we’ve had the pleasure of seeing one before and because this is our first impression, we’re still trying to sort out exactly what we think. Our first thought is that it needs a chrome grille and a bumper. Breaking up all that blue would be job number one. Proportionally the truck seems to have a longer snout than others of the era.
This truck actually has a Pontiac 455 in it, albeit one with a broken lifter. A little stance correction and some motor work and you’d have a truck like very few others. What’s your take on the looks?
