With all the fun the guys that built the 1962 Dodge Dart “Nun-Runner” Limo are having on the Power Tour, we got to thinking about alternative platforms for a hot rod toy. We found this awesome 1963 Cadillac Hearse/Ambulance locally.
Back in the good old days, racers like to grab on to retired ambulances and funeral home hearses because their beefed suspensions and healthy motors made them good tow vehicles. They could also double as sleeping quarters, tool storage, and love nest depending on how the weekend played out.
This one, located in southern Massachusetts served time as both an ambulance and a hearse and is being sold in hearse form. Looks solid enough to drive from here to the Power Tour’s closing date at Bristol Motor Speedway.
