This could be the craziest watercraft we’ve ever seen. It is called the Seabreacher and it is essentially a mechanical dolphin. Capable of flying over the surface of the water or gliding up to five feet below it, the Seabreacher is kind of like a sport bike for the water. All that fun isn’t cheap, with regular models hitting buyers for $65,000 and fully customized examples running up to $85,000.
This is certainly not a concept or something that is in the prototype stage. Production Seabreachers are out there frolicking in the ocean and freshwater as the craft is capable of being used in both. The company does not recomment that new users take it out in rough seas though.
Power comes from Rotax engines. The base model J can be had with either 155hp or 215hp in supercharged form. It’ll go 40mph on the surface and 20mph under water. The driver’s area is sealed with some type of cool inflatable aircraft seals so it won’t scuttle while under water.
This is 100% BangShift approved water-borne insanity. It is truly amazing the stuff that gearheads come up with. Read up on the Seabreacher by clicking the link below.
