Dates and Locations Announced for Hot Rod Magazine Drag Week 2012

The waiting is over because our pals at Hot Rod Magazine have announced the dates and tracks for Hot Rod Magazine Drag Week 2012 and they include the now traditional mix of larger and smaller facilities. This time Drag Week will take competitors through Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, and Tennessee. There should be some totally killer on-road driving sections and in theory anyway, all of the tracks on this list are capable of hanging onto a six second door slammer pass.

The event will run from September 9-14, 2012. The starting point will be Tulsa Raceway Park, which was saved from destruction last year and was also part of Drag Week 2011. The tour will then cruise down to Ennis, Texas and Billy Meyer’s Texas Motorplex, the first all concrete drag strip ever built. Leaving Texas, competitors will roll over to Thunder Road Dragway (formerly Red River Raceway back in the day) in Gilliam, Louisiana. After leaving Louisiana, the group will drive up to Memphis International Raceway (formerly Memphis Motorsports Park) before heading west to finish the week up back at Tulsa.

As we get more info about the event will will pass it along! We’re looking forward to hitting the trail with the Drag Week warriors this year and seeing all the crazy iron assault these strips as well as the highways and byways of the southern US this September!
