This 1990 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham Station Wagon Is For Sale On eBay – You Read That Right

Cars like this remind us that there are people out there just as whacked out as us and we mean that in the best way possible. We can’t take direct credit for finding this one of none ever made 1990 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham station wagon on eBay. That honor goes to Chad’s buddy Jay who plugged some bizarre conglomeration of words into the search bar and this monster popped up on the screen in front of him. Jay then performed his civic duty and reported his findings to us directly. Sorry to be repetitive but this is a 1990 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham STATION WAGON.

The ad is really light on history and details but it does tell us that the factory 305ci V8 is still under the hood and there is even a photo showing a sea of vacuum hoses and other junk and an air cleaner to prove that there is an engine in the car. The car was built in 1992 using “all GM parts” according to the seller, which makes sense. The roof area looks like it was from a Caprice/LeSabre B-body wagon of the era and the interior looks factory stock for the sedan. We’re wondering about stuff like springs. It would seem that the increased weight of the wagon section and what seems like more rear overhang would overwhelm the factory coils. Perhaps a set of heavy duty units were used. There’s a little sag it seems but not much. The only non-functional part of the car according to the seller is the cruise control.

Would a private party have commissioned the construction of this car? It doesn’t seem like it was built to be a hearse because there doesn’t seem to be anything in the back to help load and unload “customers” from the back of the car. Could this have just been someone’s pet project that they hired out to a coach/body builder? Whether or not you like it, the execution is flipping awesome. 99 out of 100 people would think that this is a factory built car.

Issues? Outside of the cruise control there’s some scary looking rust bubbles on the rear quarter panel of the driver’s side of the car which could be trouble. Then again it is just sheet metal and if the car was built it surely can be fixed up. This car has obviously lived lots of or perhaps all of its life in the New York area so the underside of the car is probably a rust barnacle farm, but this sucker is one neat piece.

Are we nuts or does this thing rule?

Caddy used to build regular station wagons. I’m not sure they did into the 1990’s, but they did in the 60’s and 70’s. There are a few running around here, and I knew a nutjob that had one a few years back. They weren’t hearses, but regular wagons with third seats to boot.

It looks very well done, including the vinyl top, and the cargo area. I remember seeing Caddy station wagons built the factory too. I think they were mostly built for factory execs or their wives…..

You could order them through Cadillac dealers, but they were built by either Park Superior or Heirtage Coach. The same folks that build limos and hearses.

Parks Superior and Heritage coach are dealerships, not the actual coach builder. But yes these are coach built cars.

All you really have to do is make it BREATH better!
It has a 305 V8 not good that motor had problems Cam bearing’s go bad and the block was soft around the cam . Now if you can find a 472 c i do a few modificaion’s dual exhaust change the air cleaner to a K& N put a good 400 Turbo Tranny ( should be modifies a little torque converter etc….) and you have a pretty fast machine! The problem with Cadillac’s was that they were starving to breath . Especially the real big engines in the Fleetwood’s Eldorado’s etc……

It’s not your grandpa’s Cadillac engine. Dick Miller’s 541ci Caddy stroker uses newly developed heads plus a custom Comp Cams bumpstick and valvetrain to produce tons of tire-twisting torque at a realistic engine speed.

In these days of monster engines, the 450 ci just doesn’t cut it. It seems everyone and his uncle is stroking old-school big-blocks to 500 ci and beyond. But there was one stock production engine that came standard with 500 cubes: the ’70-’76 500ci Caddy. Admittedly this engine will never win Pro Stock, but with available aftermarket parts you can have a torque monster equally at home in your tow vehicle or dare-to-be-different rod. New aftermarket Bulldog heads (marketed by Maximum Torque Specialties) have the potential to really wake up GM’s biggest engine.

Cores are not that hard to find. You can pick up a rebuildable 500ci Cadillac for under $500 in many areas of the country, but be careful: Externally, the Cadillac 472 appears identical–the two engines share the same block but have different-stroke cranks. The only way to tell for sure is to measure the stroke: about 41/16 inches for a 472, 45/16 for a 500.

The seller did a 66-2/3% job of hiding the Cad’s license number.

Don’t tell anyone, but it’s New York GHL 9823…
