Craigslist Find: A 1939 Chevy Doodlebug Pulling Tractor That Chad Won’t Allow Me To Spend Company Funds On

Craigslist Find: A 1939 Chevy Doodlebug Pulling Tractor That Chad Won’t Allow Me To Spend Company Funds On

Recently I have begun trolling the depths of Craigslist and other local classifieds for an old tractor because frankly I’ve not had a really good fight with my wife in a while. That and the fact that winter is coming and I want to play in the snow with something capable of plowing the driveway. The good news is that I found something that isn’t quite a tractor and that would not be effective at all with respect to pushing snow. Perfect, right? I thought so, too. I made a bold attempt to sell Chad on the use of BS corporate funds to score this thing, thereby circumventing any hit to the family bank account,   but he shot me down despite the fact that I was laying it on thick. He employed logic and reason in his argument, leaving me defenseless.

This is a 1939 Chevrolet that has been modified into a pulling Doodlebug. The normal rear axle has been replaced with one from a tractor (along with tractor wheels and tires), it has a pair of transmissions stacked end to end for more advantageous gearing for pulling, it has zoomie headers, and a not so fire breathing 216ci Chevy Stovebolt six cylinder engine. According to the seller this ‘bug “one” five of seven pulls it competed in this summer. Summation – this is one mean son of a bitch. Probably too much machine for Chad to handle and he was jealous of me for potentially owning it. Only logical explanation, right? I bet it would pop a wheelie.

Alright, a big block and some skid plates and we’d have the first BangShift wheelstander to attack strips with across the country! We’d even leave the name, “Miss Nightmare” the same. As an aside, is it appropriate to name a competition vehicle with about 100hp anything to do with “Nightmare”?

We think that Chad’s totally out of line on this one. Whaddya say? Should I mortgage the company and buy this mean mo-chine? I’d use the beard as collateral.

This thing has potential written all over it………and with a little tweaking it could move snow.

Pretty cool. Here in Alabama, you could get it licensed and drive it on the street. Dont know much about plowing snow, but it looks like with some weight on the back, and chains on the tires and it would move some snow.

Maybe there’s a financial opportunity, there.

Install a fifth-wheel hitch on it and contract it out to a trucking company or trailer sales/service outfit…

THIS is not the machine that should come between friends.
    Let it go.
    Let it go.

Must find convincing excuse as to why one of these is needed. My wife will want to know.
