eBay Find: A Boeing Gas Turbine Powered Go Kart – BS Approved Levels of Insanity!

eBay Find: A Boeing Gas Turbine Powered Go Kart – BS Approved Levels of Insanity!

We have to thank BangShift reader Andrew Lenthe for the tip on this amazing turbine powered go kart that is currently for sale on eBay. Looking all the world like a well constructed but bat shit insane little vehicle, this go kart is drawing us in like a moth to the proverbial flame. The thing does not currently have an operable afterburner, but the builder did construct the nozzle out of thick stainless so that an afterburner could be added after the fact, you know, when you got bored with your FREAKING TURBINE POWERED GO KART. The ad is super straight forward and not flashy in the least, suggesting that the builder is probably a pocket protector type. That is a good thing if you don’t want to die on your first trip piloting your FREAKING TURBINE POWERED GO KART.

We have no idea what a small turbine like this would have normally powered but we do know that it will run on Kerosene, Diesel, and Av gas so your fuel selection is wide open. In news that should surprise absolutely no one, the seller claims that the kart can go well over 100mph. We’re not sure that even needed to be said aloud, but we guess it is good to have it in the small print somewhere in the event some jackwagon is looking to buy this for his 10 year old. The thoughts of terrorizing both our neighborhood and our town with this machine are nearly too much for our pea brains to handle. Yeah, the fuel tank arm rests are a little creepy, but this thing is a FREAKING TURBINE POWERED GO KART. We’ve written letters to Santa, the local credit union, and we’ve bought a bunch of lottery tickets. We have the will. We need the cash.

If you saddle up in that thing, it may not be your wife that kills you. It doesn,’t have any kind of ground effect surfaces to keep it rubber side down.

The 502 (ne – T50) found it’s ‘normal’ home in small aircraft, helicopters, and even some tanks (!) back in the 50’s and 60’s. Still a lot of these around surplus, and over the years these little turbines found a home in a a variety of vehicles –

In the fourth pic you(I) can yoys make out the disc on the rear axel. Still not much to slow it down as it is probably near useless. maybe a parachute.

Put Av gas in it and you will have one hell of a fire and smoke show so to speak…. But it will run on diesel, jet fuel and lamp oil!!!
