We’ve been following the exploits of the Illinois-based Hypermax Engineering team and their diesel powered dragster for the better part of a year now. The last time we showed you video of the dragster they ran in the low 7s with Top Fuel driver Tony Zizzo at the controls. In case you have forgotten, this monster is powered by a highly modified International DT466 engine that sports a trio of turbos among dozens and dozens of other hardcore modifications.

This video has some significance because we think this may be the quickest diesel pass of all time and if it isn’t, it has to be damned close. The 216-mph  terminal velocity has to be among a small number of the fastest diesel passes of all time as well. If anyone has gone faster, we’re guessing that it is the team from Scheid Diesel, but some research on their website does not turn up any runs in the 6.60s or over 210mph. Since the Scheid car was recognized as the quickest and fastest in the world prior to this monster lap, it seems that the Hypermax boys have taken the title.
