eBay Find Counter Strike: One Of The Coolest Sleeper Muscle Trucks In America

eBay Find Counter Strike: One Of The Coolest Sleeper Muscle Trucks In America

Chad posted this morning about our pal Cowboy’s 100% amazing Ford truck that he’s selling on eBay to make way for a newer, crazier project. Well, thanks to BS reader Josh Fullenwider I found a truck that suits my tastes to a T and I want to see what the readership in BangShift-land thinks about it as well. Behold this 1980 Chevy C-10 that looks like something an old man would be puttering around in somewhere in the center of the country. It is clean as a whistle, looks basically stock (outside of the black cowl hood that would blend nicely with some oxidized looking red paint squirted onto it) and is packing a 620hp version of Chevrolet Performance’s 572ci crate engine. Oh, did we mention that it runs mid-11s on the motor and it is equipped with a nitrous plate as well? Now we did.

The transmission is a Turbo 400 backed by a Gear Vendors unit, so gas mileage wouldn’t be too horrifying when cruising down the highway. The rear end is an 8.5″ 10-bolt and the seller said he would throw in the stock 12-bolt if the buyer wanted it. The interior of the truck is minto with the stock seats, carpet, door panels, and dash. There is a port for a lap top to be plugged in, a tach, and an air fuel meter as well as a ratchet style shifter on the floor.

The truck has had disc brakes swapped onto the back, Cal Trac looking devices on the leaf springs and absolutely bleeds win from all of its pores. Seriously, this effing thing is awesome. The white walls and white front bumper are so perfect that tears of joy are rolling down my cheeks. I would take this truck over a damned Ferrari, Lambo, 1969 Camaro, hell….ANYTHING!

Is the “farm truck” faster? Hell yeah, but the word is out on it. This thing is still a Q-Ship to the extreme!!!

Scroll down for photos and the eBay ad for the truck!

A few years ago at Cecil County Dragway a guy showed up with a mid 70’s full size pick up with a plow mount, 4 wheel drive with the front drive shaft removed, New York state farm plates and et streets. The body was rough like it came right off the farm. It was running 10.90s and going rounds. It was the ultimate q-ship.

First, it WAS semi-cool until I saw the ridiculous, Q-ship-sleeper-ruining cowl induction hood. Second, it’s a Chevy. Anyone can stab a crate motor in a belly button ride like that, but it takes a real bang shifter to dismantle a 68 1/2 ‘Stang CJ and stuff the driveline into an otherwise completely stock appearing mid-70s F100 farm truck. Add circle track suspension goodies, some Dodge steelies wrapped in sticky Michelins, and you’ve got a G-Machine that runs mid-11s with cold AC. And it still hauls plywood and mulch.

the 95 I drive has the original wheels, and they no longer stick out in a crowd except for looking K-mart directional. They stuck out in ’95, nothing came with a 275 60 17 then… now they look small. In the spring, maybe a nitrous bottle setup in the toolbox on it. There’s only one small SVT badge left on it, on the tail gate, where it belongs. I love “sleepy”.

The hood has to go – totally agreed, or cut whatever you need for the air filter clearance and flatten that bitch out. We have guys on here who can show you hot to remove that blister on your schnoz! The shifter is too much for me too. Steelies and a floor shifter throw flags.

Very cool truck! I’d loose the cowl hood and drop it. Even lowered, and with another set of wheels, it’d look slow.

like my old ’95 Dodge RAM now, they wish their chevy Sounded like my 360 every time i start it up and leave my driveway. sometimes i let it lope out there in the drive, and goose it when i leave home, just to let them Hear it, that Howl that MOPAR makes.

It says in the eBay ad that the stock hood is included. Nobody would give it a second thought here in the farmland.
