This is freaking awesome. Up for sale on eBay right now is the fake arm that Wild Willie Borsch had mounted into the window of his “Revell’s Wild Man” Funny Car in the early 1970s. This is a true piece of drag racing history and something that no one even considered existed any more. Borsch gained his fame driving the famed Winged Express and a lot of that allure was the fact that Borsch drove the car with one hand clamped firmly on the side of the body and the other hand working the wheel, which was at the same angle one would find positioned in a school bus!
When Marcellus and Borsch split ways, Willie went into the funny car ranks (without a whole lot of success) and campaigned several of them. His most famous flopper was the one that this arm came off of, the aforementioned, “Revell’s Wild Man” machine. It certainly speaks to the era and the attitude of the sport in the early 1970s. It was a time when humor, showmanship, and the ability to entertain the fans in any way possible was valued. This arm is living proof and we’ve always thought that it was one of the neatest “props” used in the sport of drag racing.
Bidding is currently at $1500 with more than 35 bids having been placed. This thing belongs (in our opinion) in the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame down in Florida. It is an amazing artifact and something that we wish we could own and put on the mantle…although it would look a little creepy.

An interview with Mousie a while back said that they parted ways when Willie insisted on running a big block Chevy in the Charger, and he just became too difficult to work with.
Al Marcellus: “We didn’t have the money to be competitive. He wanted to go Funny Car racing with a Chevrolet engine because he said it was economical. I wanted to run our Chrysler. He was dead-set on running the Chevrolet. He ended up selling the Altered, blown Chrysler and all, and things just didn’t turn out as he had planned.”
