DeTomaso Panteras hold a cool spot in the gearhead pantheon of coolness. They are a great marriage of sleek Italian styling and good old American brute force. There are several of them currently for sale on eBay and this one seems to fit us the best.
This 1972 model is extremely clean and the seller claims that it has less than 24,000 miles. In case you’re not familiar, these cars have a rear-mounted 351 Cleveland hooked to a five-speed ZF transaxle. The motor in this car is rated at 305 hp, so it’s not going to accelerate like a Viper, but it’s got more than enough guts to keep your hands full as you bang through the gears.
