Ford’s twin-turbo Ecoboost system will be used on 90 percent of the company’s engines by the year 2013, claims Ford in a slightly aged story in the Detroit Free Press newspaper. The story touts the efficiency of the system and how it will allow the company to replace larger displacement motors for smaller ones.
It’s going to debut in the 2010 Taurus SHO which goes on sale this summer.
Sadly, we hear that the system is designed for low boost and has restrictions that limit the ultimate power potential. Even so, we’re hoping that ridiculous horsepower will be found by tuning experts.
