(Photos by Charles Wickam) – If cars are an extension of their owner and their owners culture than car shows should be the same thing, right? This gallery from the 2013 Houston Autorama is a perfect example of that. While there are plenty of cars in here, there are lots of trucks and since this show was in Texas, that makes total sense. The interesting thing is the approaches taken to modify said trucks. There are wild lowrider style machines as shown below with engraving and paint work that looks as though it took decades to compete, there are some blinged up lifted trucks that certainly represent the contemporary style of truck customization, there are haulers like the light blue Chevy which represent the genre we’re diggin’ currently which we’d describe as “street brawler”.
Also in this gallery you’ll see the legendary Gene Winfield chopping a top as he does at several of the Autorama shows across the country. This dude just doesn’t stop moving from Bonneville to stuff like this nationwide tour of “choppin'” Winfield is a legend and he’ll probably outlive us!
