The Pomona Swap Meet is known far and wide for being one of the best spots in the country to find killer rust-free iron, hot rod parts, and memorabilia. The August 2009 Pomona Swap Meet was no dissappointment and had more cars, parts, and people than any Pomona Swap Meet in recent memory. Walking the car corral is always one of our favorite places to start at Pomona, even though we have no money to spend, and gives a good idea of what is selling and for how much.
We found that trucks were for sale everywhere, as well as a few semi-finished projects, but the biggest surprise was the number of first generation Firebirds that we saw. Pomona separates their car corral into several areas, including Pre-’75 Volkwagen, Pre-’57 Cars and Trucks, Pre-’75 Cars and Trucks, any year Corvette, and any year Porsche. We normally hit the Volkswagens, Pre-’57s and Pre-’75s but this month we had to skip the Volkswagens because their were too many cars to see, and not nearly enough time.

Below is a photo of what we thought was the best deal in the corral, a bitchin’ running and registered ’40 Ford.
