Every December here in Sunny So Cal, every car junkie worth his salt is looking forward to the Mooneyes X-Mas Party Show and Drags, and this year did not dissappoint. Beautiful whether in the 70’s, lots of sun shine, hot cars, tire smoke, and open headers made for a day that couldn’t possibly go wrong. We showed up “late”, meaning 11:30 am, and the place was packed. In fact our BangShift priority parking had been given away, so we knew it was going to be packed. The A/FX cars were on hand for drag racing action along with several front motor dragsters, gassers, and more. Plus tons of killer vendors, great music, and more hot rods, customs, and traditionals than you can imagine packed the lots at Irwindale Dragstrip.
We have evening plans with Rob and Tina MacGregor from No Limit Engineering, so we had to head out early so I could get all the photos up for you monkeys. Leaving early meant 3:30pm, and they were still coming IN the gate. If you can’t find any other reason to leave your cold and damp weather to come visit California during the winter, then consider the Mooneyes X-Mas Party your official reason. Good food, good friends, killer rods, and drag racing action.
