(Photos by Jeff Lee) – The 5th generation Camaro community is a tight knit group that has lots and lots of love for their pony cars. Having recently reviewed a 2013 Hot Wheels edition Camaro, I can speak from experience regarding the quality, performance, and power that these cars have. Do they have their shortcomings? Sure. Are they fast as hell? You bet your backside they are. Recently, Jeff Lee attended the 2013 Camaro5 Fest held at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indy. Supported by a raft of manufacturers and Chevrolet Performance, this is one of the premier 5th gen events in the county.
Jeff was on hand with his dad displaying their Hammerhead IRS center section for 5th gen Camaros. The Hammerhead combines the strength with a 12-bolt rear end with the convenience of having a bolt in part that requires no hard core modifications to make it work. These things are amazingly strong and we’ve personally witnessed some truly heavy duty cars both drag racing and autocross with them without incident. You can learn more about the hammerhead here.
Jeff did a great job cruising the whole show with his camera. You’ll see autocross action, drag race action, and a ton of photos from the showfield!
