(Photos by Doug Garrison) – A while back, we brought you Joe Grippo’s photos from the winter open house at Posies Rods and Customs in Pennsylvania. As it turns out, our own Doug Garrison was there was well. Doug had his picture taker with him and shot more than 100 photos of the event. The cool thing is that this shop and impromptu show was so big that between the two guys they managed to catch virtually every car and truck in attendance.
Ken “Posies” Fenical’s hot rod shop is known throughout the country and by gearheads the world over for turning out cool, innovative stuff. Yes, he does “normal” cars very well, but over the years he has broken lots of ground by building stuff that seems completely weird and nonsensical on paper but looks bitchin’ beyond belief in person. The flat black Jag featured in this gallery is one of those cars. You may also remember the “Posies pick” column in Hot Rod Magazine that ran every month for years.
Thanks to Doug Garrison for sending this gallery of photos in! There’s lots of gold in here!
GALLERY:
Love that white ’61 Impala. I’ve got a black one that I’ll get back to after the Great White North snows melt. (It’s sitting all covered up snugly beside my shop.)
Not all the pics and cars shown here are of Posie’s open house. I know for a fact that the green 1941 Willys shown here as the first pic was actually painted and assembled by me at Engles Body Shop 225 Schaeffer Road Lebanon Pa. 17042 (717) 272-7054. We also had an open house the same day as Posie. I do appreciate the pics of our cars but please give us our recognition.
