(Photos by Doug Garrison) – This year’s running of Bonneville Speed Week was a smashing success with tons of racers hitting the sale, lots of new records, and lots of new cars being shaken down for future blasts on the alter of speed. Doug Garrison was out on the sale and sent us a ton of photos from his adventure. Since we can’t get enough of the whole Bonneville scene, we’re going to parcel them out and run several galleries this week.
Like we always talk about, the true beauty of Bonneville and land speed racing in general is the fact that the mechanical creativity that launched the whole high performance industry is still on display in virtually unfettered terms. Some of the creations in this gallery like the rear engine diesel truck and others highlight what people have dreamed up in shops, garages, and local taverns all over the country and in some cases the world.
