The automotive world changed forever in 1964 when Ford rolled out its new car called the Mustang. It sold beyond anyone’s wildest expectations and would go on to become one of the most iconic performance cars in American history with as loyal a following now as it has ever had. From the drag strips of the 1960s when the Cobra Jets showed up and dominated at the NHRA Winternationals, to the road courses of the 1970s when Parnelli Jones took his Boss 302 to the Trans AM Championship, to the salts of Bonneville where Mustangs have held and still hold land speed records, these cars have been built in virtually every way imaginable. As you’d expect, the 2013 Fabulous Fords Forever show was chock full of Mustangs of all type. Our favorite from this gallery is the blue machine with steel wheels below. That look with a 427 side oiler under the hook hooked to a top loader and a 9″ read end is the combo we’ve always wanted to experience!
