(Words and photos by Bob Chiluk) – Us midwest guys envy all you west coast and southern hot rodding bretheren that can partake in events all year round. October signals the close of the outdoor season for us. So when the weatherman predicts a sunny day to get out of the garage and meet up with a few hundred car guys, everything else get put on hold! The first annual “Iron Invasion” hit Woodstock Illinois with a huge turnout. Meant as a tribute to traditional hot rodding , bands ,and culture, the billet and bling crowd were nowhere to be found. What we did find was reassuring reminder that the hobby is paying homage to those before us on how it was done. If this event is a sign how popular this following is , you can be sure next year will be huge!
