The 2011 SOVREN Historic road races, held at Pacific Raceway in Kent Washington were a smashing success. Drawing incredible old cars from across the country, it was a collection of the best vintage road racing iron this country has to offer. We were super excited when Nathan McGrew, a talented lensman from Washington state dropped us a note and told us he would be at the event shooting and we could have some of his photos from the sum of some BS shirts and a hat. We shipped him stuff post haste and this is the first of several galleries we’ll run from the event.
Nathan’s first dispatch will show you the cool cars competing in the large bore formula and sportsracer group. You’ll see a collection of open and closed wheel cars. Our particular favorties are the 1968 Chevron B14 (shown below) and the blue Tyrrell formula. That baby just looks ready to rumble!
We’ll be back with several more galleries, including vintage Trans-Am cars!

That Burnett MkII Can-Am car (Number 64) is a real knockout. A nice change from the usual McLarens and Porsches.
They’ve usually got some bitchin small-bore stuff at Kent, too.
And that Tyrrell Ford! Too bad there’s no sound . . . .
Gotta love race cars that look like race cars!! Thanks BS and Nathan.
