(Photos by Charles Wickam) – Charles Wickam has been doing a fantastic job of keeping us up to date and in the know about his weekend adventure with BangShifter Scott Brown at the 2014 Lonestar Round Up. We haven’t even showed you photos from the actual show yet and the stuff has been fantastic. Here’s another of those “extracurricular” galleries Charles has been sending from the cool events and places they’ve been hanging out. The yearly gathering at Top Notch Burgers rules for many reasons. There’s the classic setting that looks straight out of American Graffiti, there’s the great burgers, and most importantly there is always a raft of cool cars, packing the place to the rafters and creating an environment that nearly causes “regular” people to drive off the road in amazement when they see a drive-in that looks like it never advanced past the 1960s (and we’re saying that in the sense that it is fantastic, not bad).
This collection of photos from Top Notch is another reason why we’re planning on putting the 2015 Lonestar Round Up on our list of shows we’ll be at next year. We can’t let Charles and Scott have all the fun by themselves, right?!
I thought Top Notch was straight out of Dazed and Confused. Cool stuff.
Stopped there on my cross country road trip. good burgers and yes, it was in Dazed and Confused.
Wait till you see the shots from inside the expo center. I’ve been going to LSRU for the last 7 years and it was huge yesterday. I watched cars stream in for over 3 hours starting at 9am.
A trend I noticed is the older GoodGuys level “show cars” from 10 years ago seem to be coming out and getting driven and dirty. That tweed doesn’t seem to hold up too well in the sun though.

Charles did you get the story on this ’32? Single family car from early ’50s,young man parked car to grow his family ,car sat for 50 years then man died suddenly. Wife pulled car out of storage ,registered it and friends began restoring it. The book on the cowl tells the story.
Oh the sacrilege of it all. There was a 32 Ford there with a Ford engine in it. How dare the guy.
You want to do something to help your site? Stop having to go to other pages to view the pictures. It’s a real pain in the kisser. Takes way to long and I hate the small thumbnails and have to wait for a whole page to load.
