The people and the cars came from far and wide. They came on trailers, in convoys, and they hailed from different states and countries. The Mustang’s 50th birthday weekend was celebrated at Las Vegas and Charlotte along with countless other cruise-in events, small shows, and other gatherings across the country. We happened to be at the Las Vegas event and we’ll be sharing our photos from it through the course of this week. As you saw in the first gallery, there were plenty of classic Mustangs in attendance. In this gallery you’ll see that there were plenty of late model Mustangs at the show as well.

The world freaked, and for good reason when the S-197 body style dropped in 2005. This “retro-futuristic” design by J Mays and his posse at Ford was just what the doctor ordered for the car and it was an immediate and total smash hit. I distinctly remember getting a fairly early V6 rental car version on a business trip in Florida and the attention it got was insane. This gallery has a bunch of those S-197 cars in various forms. We LOVE the stock car looking version below and truly believe that it should be the way that every car competing in NASCAR look ASAP. What say you?
