Car Show Gallery: Photos From The Grove At The 2013 March Meet

(Photos by Scott Liggett) – Frequent BangShift LA-area contributor Scott Liggett hopped into his vintage big block powered Chevy Caprice and hauled the mail up to Bakersfield on Saturday at the 2013 March Meet. Ironically, Chad and I weren’t able to spend a whole lot of time with him due to our commitments at the event, but being able to shake his hand and say hello is always cool, especially for me being anchored here on the east coast. Scott cruised around the Grove and pits on Saturday with his camera blasting away at stuff that he found cool. There were few things that weren’t ice cold in anywhere on the grounds at Famoso so Scott was a busy dude.

Believe it or not, we have at least one or two galleries left from BangShift contributors at the 2013 March Meet. If this event isn’t on your list of “must do stuff” for 2014, you need to pencil it in. If you are a fan of nostalgia drag racing and especially a fan of the historic venues that drag racing still has in its fold, you need to visit Famoso. This is one of the places that birthed the sport and its grounds have seen more tragedy and triumph than virtually any other place in the history of the sport. You can feel the history when you walk in and that’s why this race and even means so much.

Killer as usual, Scott. I’m digging that 65 Biscayne. When did the new style BangShift decals come out?

I dont know. The owner of the car saw Brian with them in his back pocket and practically mugged him to get some.

I was totally digging thst Biscayne too. Totally straight and rust free. He had weight bars inside the rear frame rails for better transfer and traction. Pretty cool idea.

……those decals were printed by me for Chad and were delivered to the March Meet. Chad calls those “Race Car” decals. Not sure what the availability is gonna be. I also made some “special” editions of those you may see around..

Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good.

I’m shocked any came out as I was shivering all day.
