(Words and photos by Jace Ray) – E = R…..famous racers motto….Effort equals Results.
Tucson Street Rod Association definitely put out major effort for their 40th Anniversary Rodders Days event producing outstanding results. From Friday’s activities, Saturday’s show & Sunday’s conclusion, good times were experienced by all. Approximately 440 pre 1972 cars from CA, NM, NV, UT & AZ attended. Typical May weather, bright sunshine, cloudless sky & comfortable mid 80’s temperature enhanced all events. Past shows were held downtown but because of Tucson’s growth, TSRA needed to move location. Challenges regarding alternative places happened. This year’s site was ideal, utilizing the grass mall on University of Arizona campus.
Current TSRA president, Glenn Looney personally campaigned for five years to obtain permission to use it. TSRA is the oldest rod club in Arizona with 60 current members who all contributed big-time making their anniversary show successful. I strongly recommend all BangShifters scheduling the first weekend of May 2015 to attend an excellent event/show/party in Tucson, AZ. Remember… what happens in AZ stays wherever you want.
Factoid: due to year around crusin’ weather… AZ is T-Bucket capital of the world.
