And They Thought An ATC Three Wheeler Was Sketchy! This 1974 Alsport Tri-Sport Is A Wheelie Machine Your Mom Would Cringe At

Sometimes you find the damndest stuff for sale on Marketplace. This is one of those things. And to top it off, this one has danger written all over it. I can imagine a time though when this would have been an awesome machine for kids, but long before lawyers were lurking in the shadows looking for anything and everything to sue over. I did a little research on these and didn’t find any others with a wheel bar quite like this one, and I’m not sure the rear drivetrain is stock either. It says the engine has been replaced, but most of the others I saw online had functioning independent rear suspension and this one seems to be a solidly mounted solid axle. I think that might actually make it more fun, if not rather uncomfortable, but whatever. I still think it would be rad to go for a ride in the neighborhood with the front end in the air for half a block. Don’t you?

Cringeworthy? These were STREET LEGAL in Florida back in the day! I was stationed at Eglin AFB and my cousin who lived locally had one.
Why did we let “lawmakers” (who are supposed to be representatives and public servants, not servants of lawyers and insurance companies) become our masters and controllers?

I had one of these as kid and it was a blast. My friend at the time had a Honda ATV but the Tri-Sport was way more stable so I could outrun him on any kind of ground. The other thing you could do with a Tri-Sport that a ATV couldn’t do was drift it on gravel or dirt. The seller saying that it has a new throttle reminded me of the thing that was a pain, my Tri-sport would eat the throttle cable about every three or four months.
