UPDATE: After many valiant comebacks, thousands of gallons in jet fuel, blood, sweat, and tears, the record breaking Shakedown at the Summit has been called due to rain. All purses will be split. We have a replay of the event at the link below.

BangShift.com would like to congratulate the Summit Motorsports Park management and crew for their tireless dedication to their racers, fans, and media. Under weather circumstances that would have crippled most facilities, their team continually conquered the conditions in order to provide a National Event level racing surface that received accolades from all in attendance. We would be remiss if we didn’t also give kudos to Jason Rueckert with VP Racing Fuels, who was on hand with VP’s Lanechoice 7 Traction Compound providing technical assistance in keeping this track the best it could be. In short, everyone involved with the Shakedown at the Summit kicked ass. The racers stayed with it until the end as did the fans, and the staff at the facility was incredible. And to top it off, everyone had a smile on their face even though we were living a Groundhog Day type of nightmare.

Thank you to all of you, it was our pleasure to be a part of it. We can’t wait for next year!

That’s right folks, this weekend BangShift.com will have exclusive FREE LIVE STREAMING VIDEO from the Shakedown At The Summit, formerly The Shakedown at Englishtown or the Shakedown At E-Town. After the conclusion of the 2012 Shakedown it was announced that Englishtown New Jersey would no longer be the home of the Shakedown, and that the event had been handed over to the capable hands of Kurt Johnson and the Bader Family who run Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk Ohio. Soon after the announcement we began talks with Kurt and the Baders and are extremely happy to be a part of this Inaugural Shakedown at the Summit.

As always here at BangShift.com, we’ll be high above the track shooting each and every single pair of cars running down the famed track at Norwalk, starting Friday morning at 11am Eastern. Spread the word, and tell your friends to tune in right here. Share the link to this blog item, or cut and paste the link below in all your favorite forums and on Facebook.

If you live within 300 miles of Norwalk, we DO NOT want to see you online. We want to see you in the stands, so start getting your excuse ready for calling in sick on Friday. If you need a note for work, Doctor Chad Reynolds will be handing out prescriptions and doctors excuses. Just email him at [email protected] and he’ll get you all taken care of.

Everyone, go to Norwalk this weekend! Kurt’s throwin’ down the super sticky! If I can hang my front skinnies 7 feet in the air at that place in the heat then these dudes are gonna fly!

This is gonna be awesome. Last race of the year for me probably, how very sad. I am missing it already. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves just yet because there is a lot of fun coming this weekend.

Anybody within driving distance of this show that doesn’t check it out live is going to miss the best outlaw cars in the country at the best facility in the country. I’m sure in true “Bader” style this will be one to remember!!!!

    Chad,
It was great to meet you! (Supersport). We toughed it out, anxiously waiting and hoping that we would see some racing. When 5pm hit, the racing started, and we enjoyed the racing until 10 pm, when we decided to head for home. How late they race until? Did the rain continue to hold off?
