This one should spike your blood pressure. Two men, Clark Roberts and Sean Howley, engineers for a company called Wyko Tire Technology of Greeback, Tennessee, have been indicted for conspiracy to steal trade secrets from Goodyear Tire and Rubber.
These two traitorous louts signed a contract with a Chinese tire company called Guilin Rubber Co. Ltd., agreeing to build them machinery to construct large off-highway tires. In order to achieve their end of the deal these guys lied their way into a Goodyear factory in Topeka, Kansas, and on their tour of the factory used cell-phone cameras to take pictures of proprietary machinery that Goodyear uses to build the same type of tires.
Court papers allege that they then sent those photos to a Wyko subsidiary in England who copied the machine for the contract.
The good news is that these guys were arrested and will be facing charges that have a maximum penalty of 150 years in jail and a couple million in fines.
