Finnegan and Freiburger are out with their new show called Hot Rod Garage which is a more traditional gearhead show like you’d watch on regular ol’ TV. This is NOT replacing Roadkill or anything like that, this is just another excuse for the guys to horse around, fix stuff, and keep their mugs front and center on the Tubes of You. In this first episode of the series, the guys repair and drag race the famed Draguar, they spruce up the El Camino that Finnegan’s wife owns, and they spread some cool tech tips on the subjects of welding and painting stuff, among others. Oh, and they have a punk band providing the soundtrack for the whole thing.
We can dig this show because it is way less frenetic than Roadkill and the guys can go more in-depth with exactly what they are doing to the cars. The mechanical work is more the focus of this show than staying up all night, risking life and limb, and making the people at the National Corvette Museum angry with suggestions that they drive cars into their sinkhole. (I just really wanted to write the line, “drive cars into their sinkhole” so forgive me…I just did it twice).
We’re betting that this show will be airing on a schedule opposite Roadkill so you’ll be able to see these guys on a more frequent basis doing different things. The good news is that if the episodes are going to focus on getting Roadkill cars up to snuff, they have plenty of material to use!

Can’t get that channel . Only if I buy a “sport ” package from Time Warner Cable and it is pricey…. I don’t watch socker, baseball ,or any other sport on TV…. T.W.C. controls my life and I hate it !
I really like the basic tech tips and welding example work.
Not really a fan of the band since I would have valued an extra tech tip over the music.
But the show content is excellent.
happy – happy – joy – joy …….. something new . well done ……. want more …….. 55’s looking better & better
Good show and best part, you can fast forward the commercials!
Interesting show.
Since when did Frieberger start wearing proper shoes?
Will we see Finnegan do paint and bodywork on the Elco?
Good piece on the TIG welding, and custom spark wires.
An excellent counterbalance for RoadKill.
Nicely done, however the band is not necessary.. Both guys seem to be down to earth without the huge television egos, (ie. ass monkey garage)
