Insane Wheelstand Sequence Re-Run: A ’32 Chevy Sedan On the Bumper!

(Editor’s Note: This wheelstand sequence ran back in 2010 and for kicks, we dug it out of the archive) – This ain’t no freaking street rod! This killer action sequence was captured by Action Racing Photos, a drag racing photography outfit in the New England area. Denis LeBlanc operates the company and along with shooter Jay Spinella, caught this 1932 Chevy trying to turn itself over backwards at New England Dragway in Epping, New Hamphire.

According to Jay Spinella, the car is packing a 550ci big-block Chevy engine and the guys who run it were having trouble getting the car to hook up so they made a change with the ladder bars. What you are looking at is the very next pass after they made the adjustment. We guess it worked.

Note the ratty, well used, drag radials on the rear of the car and how the driver appears to literally be eating the steering wheel on the photos following a not-so-gentle landing. Lap belts don’t do much to stop your upper body.

Denis and Jay do killer work and you can check out all their stuff by hitting the link to ActionRacingPhotos.com. Scroll down and enjoy the unique show of a massive wheelstand caught from two angles at the same time! It’s a rare photographic feat!.
