Island Dragway Reopening July 5th With 3-Day Bracket And Nostalgia Event! – GREAT NEWS!

Island Dragway Reopening July 5th With 3-Day Bracket And Nostalgia Event! – GREAT NEWS!

After a tumultuous 6 months, Island Dragway in New Jersey is proud to announce that they will be reopening July 5th, 2013! And in a show of force, the event is not just going to be some test and tune Friday night deal, it’s the first of three days of drag racing that will kick off with their street legal program and include bracket racing plus Sunday’s Nostalgia Nationals. Purses will be awarded in all classes, and the track is pushing to get up and running at a level everyone can be proud of.

Summit Racing Series points events are already scheduled, a new website is up and running even during development, and they are taking new sponsors and new donations to make this historic track stay up and running. It’s a testament to racers helping each other out. We’re glad to see it for sure.

BangShift wishes the new management of the facility all the best and we also send along a hearty personal thanks for working to reopen the historic strip. This was a huge loss for NJ drag racers and we’re super happy to see that they’ll be back and jamming at Island. We’re going to try and make it down there before the season closes to show our support!
