Last wee we told you about the newest batch of charges filed against suspended NASCAR racer Jeremy Mayfield. Late last week, Mayfield responded to these charges through his lawyer and in doing so, indicated that he believes that NASCAR and local law enforcement are conspiring against him to apparently ruin him as a human being. There is no indication if any black helicopters or tin foil were cited in the statement, but with the mounting number of charges against Mayfield, those two items could have been involved.
The wording of the statement didn’t use the word “conspiracy” but we’ll let you read a portion of it yourselves to see where we got that impression from. Here’s an excerpt, “We do not know if there is any connection between the NASCAR lawsuit and this investigation but, based upon the evidence disclosed to us already by the district attorney’s office, it appears that the Catawba County authorities have been coordinating with NASCAR officials.”
