Swap Meet Gallery: The 2012 Big 3 Parts Exchange Swap Meet – San Diego

(Photos by Chad) – The Big Three Swap meet celebrated it’s 46th year this past weekend. The event has grown over the decades to become a massive collection of old car and truck parts, project vehicles, and plain old neat stuff. We combed the rows and rows of objects for sale and zapped about 100 photos of the coolest stuff. We’re increasingly amazed at how many old school medium and heavy duty trucks are showing up at these types of events.  They are ripe fodder for traditional rodders now and that is pretty cool.

In the age of Craigslist, eBay, RacingJunk, and the hundreds of other electronic means of selling old car stuff, it is cool to see an event with this type of tradition continue to thrive. There is something to be said about the community of hot rodding and this event is proof of that. Also, there’s something cool about being to paw and crawl over the junk you are buying rather than relying on poorly shot photos from some guy’s garage.

This event is put on by over 100 volunteers and they deserve the thanks of everyone who attended!

Don’t know about any of the rest of you, but when I go to a parts swap, I want to see parts. All the pic’s make this look like a used car lot…. or a scrap yard.
