The Jeremy Mayfield legal tree giveth again, this time in the form of a report from SceneDaily.com. According to the story, Mayfield is being sued for more than $86,000 by Triad Racing Technologies and BDR Acquisitions for parts and work they did for Mayfield’s now non-existent team.
The Mayfield side is arguing that the agreement made with Triad and BDR (both owned by the same man) was for race cars and parts, and because the entire agreement was not fufilled, they don’t need to pay. Reading that back seems to make no sense at all, because it makes no sense at all.
You’re probably what kind of lawyer came up with that logic, we were too until we read that Mayfield did not use a lawyer for this and filed the paperwork himself. Matlock, it seems, he’s not.
Apparently he’s also being sued by the engine builder he used for more than $70,000 in a different legal action. He must be preparing his defense for that as we write this.
