Kablooey Photos: Hello Nitrous, Goodbye Wankel Rotary Engine

Our man on the San Antonio scene, Kevin Blalock is back with another cool photo sequence of stuff blowing up in spectacular fashion. Last time it was a third-gen Camaro, and this time it is a rotary powered Mazda RX-7. Both cars were caught doing kick ass impersonations of jet dragsters.

Like the last car, Kevin believes that nitrous oxide was the catalyst for this flame show. Rumor was that the driver mashed the pedal, the squeeze came to the party and then everything else went to hell. Kevin’s like Quick Draw McGraw with these fire photos and he says that there’s more where these came from.

If you’re freezing your ass off somewhere in North America, envision yourself standing directly behind this little RX-7 when everything went to poo.

  1. CRP

The problem here was NOT the engine but the rear end. This motor still alive and well mecanically sound. Kevin can takes what he believes somewhere else.
