Legendary Drag Racer George Bryce Gets Zoning Approval to Build $12M Racing Facility

George and Jackie Bryce have received the necessary zoning approval to move ahead with their motorsports complex in Americus, Georgia. From what we have heard about the ambitious nature of the project, the strip should be national event caliber and the road course will be as good as any set of twisties in the country. The expected cost of the project is $12-million dollars.

Aside from the drag strip and road course, the facility will have an industrial/garage area which would house motorsports related businesses, and it will also have a driver training area that can be used by law enforcement to train their people the fine art of pit manuvers and J-turns.

The complex will be adjacent to an airport and a community college. In this day and age it is a miracle that a city governmemt actually supported such a project. Often, actualy almost 100% of the time, plans like this are shot to pieces by know-nothing elected officials or meddling do-gooders who feel that they are saving their community from the awful fate of having a business that pays taxes and generates revenue.

There is no date mentioned on when construction will begin, but if we know George Bryce, he’s probably got loaders and dozers sitting on the rev limiter waiting to move some Earth! We’ll keep you posted on the project as it moves along.
