We’re putting the BangShift bat-signal up this weekend for any BS readers in the greater Baton Rouge area! Brian Lohnes will be announcing the IHRA’s Nitro Jam event at the legendary State Capital Dragway and our Texas photo maven, Charles Wickam will be on hand as well, shooting all the action for an awesome gallery of header flamin’ photos. The show looks like it will be a riot and the weather is supposed to be minto. 

There’s going to be Top Fuel dragsters, nitro burning nostalgia flops, injected nitro dragsters, Nitro Harleys, legit Fuel Altereds, Outlaw Pro Mods, a jet dragster versus monster truck match race, and a full slate of sportsman action all weekend long. There will also be an announcer with blowed up vocal chords when the dust settles on Sunday afternoon.

In an additional note of BangShifty goodness, Scott Darrow, a loyal reader and talented wrench is crewing on one of the five second injected nitro burning dragsters that will be running this weekend. He’s promised to let us help them service the car on Saturday night once the racing is done. That’ll probaby be a mistake, but we’re taking him up on it!
