Lunati Rolls out Budget Voodoo Cranks for Ford, Chevy, and Pontiac Applications

Lunati Rolls out Budget Voodoo Cranks for Ford, Chevy, and Pontiac Applications

Long known for their high performance camshafts, Lunati also offers a wide variety of crankshafts as well. Adding to that already varied lineup is the new Voodoo series cranks that the company recently rolled out for Chevy, Ford, and Pontiac engines. While Chevy applications (small block, big block, and LS) and Ford (both small and big block) have multiple stroke options, which you can see below, the Pontiac has a single stroke option of 4.375″ currently.

Although we have not seen pricing for these cranks yet, we’re guessing that they will be ultra competitive with other arms in the same quality range. They are made of 4340 non-twist steel, are CNC machined and have cool features light lightening holes, profiled counterweights, and micropolished journals.

We’ve been eyeballing some Lunati rotating assembly components for our upcoming project Caprice build and we have been impressed with all of the offering that are currently available from the company. This new line is a great addition for the guy who is looking to build a healthy high performance motor without breaking the bank!

LUNATI VOODOO CRANKSHAFTS OFFER HUGE PERFORMANCE WITH AN ECONOMICAL PRICE

High-end features previously only find in high-priced racing crankshafts work their way into Lunati’s new Voodoo cranks.

Olive Branch, MS (Feb., 2012) If horsepower wasn’t so expensive, every car at a show would probably have a 1,200 horsepower mill under the hood. It’s not a perfect world though, and sacrifices have to be made for the sake of saving some cash. Lunati has limited those sacrifices with the introduction of its Voodoo line of crankshafts for Chevy, Ford and Pontiac engines.

Quality is abundant with the Voodoo cranks, starting with the 4340, non-twist alloy steel they are CNC-machined from. Lunati didn’t stop there, outfitting its Voodoo cranks with weight-reduction holes precision located in each rod journal allowing for quicker rotating assembly acceleration and improved engine acceleration. Voodoo crankshaft counterweights are profiled to reduce windage and parasitic operating loss, something typically reserved for high-end race cranks.

Not sold yet? How about more sought-after crankshaft features like micropolished bearing journals and a nitrile treatment for improved bearing journal surface strength and wear resistance? The Voodoo crankshafts are precision indexed and dynamically balanced before leaving the Lunati warehouse, too.

Voodoo crankshafts are available for the Chevy small block with the choice of 3.750” and 4.000” strokes while Chevy big block owners get their choice of a 4.250”, 4.500”, 4.625” or 4.750” strokes. There’s even an LS Voodoo crank available.  Lunati also offers the Voodoo cranks in 3.250”, 3.400”. 4.000”, 4.100” and 4.250” strokes for the Ford small block and three (4.300”, 4.500” and 4.160”) Ford big block options. Rounding out the current Voodoo Crankshaft lineup is a 4.375” stroke Pontiac crank.
