Bob Lutz, who was supposed to be retiring from GM but now is staying on with “New GM,” recently mentioned to Automobile magazine that he is fighting to keep the G8 in production and wants it to be sold by Chevy as a new Caprice. Yes, this is actual good news and hope from GM. We’re shocked too.

Lutz sees the car as a viable competitor against similar luxury rear drive sedans both domestic and imported. His belief is not unfouded as the G8 has outsold both the Acura TL and Infinity G37 so far this year.
