As if the plummeting rating, poor reviews, and general mockery of the new version of Top Gear wasn’t bad enough, headlines about Matt LeBlanc threatening to quit Top Gear are the latest problem for the show. The news was apparently leaked by a source who works somewhere behind the scenes on the show and it has really swept across the media both in England and the USA. Top Gear has experienced the lowest ratings in its history. After coming out of the gate with 4.1 million viewers, the audience has slumped to about half of that in just four or five shows.
Evans, specifically has been a focal point. According to the linked stories, his “approval rating” among viewers is really bad, and the other members of the cast are far more heralded than he is. News stories from England indicate that Evans has a frosty relationship with his cast of characters in the show, is not exactly chummy with any of them behind the scenes and isn’t quite the band leader that you would expect from a guy in his position.
It seems to us that LeBlanc has the horsepower in this situation. He’s gotten the most positive reviews out of nearly anyone and that kind of shocks us. Chris Harris has also been great on the show and could clearly be in a more primary role than the one that he has (we believe).
The bottom line is that this show is in turmoil and we know of three guys who are probably laughing their asses off at all of the mess that was left in their wake. While this version of Top Gear got the jump on the old guys in terms of debut we’d be willing to be that the the other show is running on greased rails as compared to this junk.
Will there even be a “next” season?

There has been intense speculation recently that top TV chef and all round petrolhead James Martin is being lined up to replace the whining ginger twat. He quit his Saturday Kitchen show and did not give a clear reason for doing so despite its overwhelming popularity. I think he’s been put on reserve as it were should ratings collapse. James is a loveable Yorkshireman and has an infectious charming sense of humour which would compliment Matt Le Blanc’s easy going delivery.
So come on Top Gear – get rid of the puking carrot-top and reclaim the best car show on TV!
Top Gear was about my favorite program from Britain, along with Red Dwarf, Sherlock, Father Ted and One Foot in the Grave . This new TG is horrible. Here’s an idea, Matt; why don’t you ALL resign and put us all out of your misery.

I LOVED the old Top Gear but after so many years, it was getting stale and seemed like the guys were just going through the motions.
If you had to change the entire cast…why not revamp the entire show?
Or is this just proof that management didn’t have a clue why the show was successful in the first place
Just make Chris Harris and Matt LeBlanc the hosts, with Sabine on the side. Problem solved.
Get rid of the stig and just use Sabine . Get rid of the highstrung and loud red head and just keep LeBlanc and the F1 team Boss , he’s a riot .
They can do whatever they want. I decided after about 20 minutes of one show that I would not be tuning in again. I do enjoy watching the old shows from time to time though.
You know the old saying “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. Not only is it broke, it’s irreparable. I like Matt LeBlanc but it should be an all British cast.
Just like any other remake of an old TV show or movie(Ghostbusters, Uncle Buck, etc, etc, etc) that came out in the last 10 years, the new show is insultingly terrible. It’s even worse than the American version and I didn’t think I’d ever see anything worse than that!
Without THOSE 3 guys it’s not that show.
If they wanna come out with a show that people might actually watch, why don’t they get a couple universally respected drivers together and come out with something that’s actually a new idea for once??

Everyone wants Evans off the show … He is an annoying ginger loud mouth …. How come no mention of History channel dropping US top gear !
To say this revamped show is bad would be complimenting it. Too bad Sabine signed up with these clowns.
