ESPN.com has confirmed that Jeremy Mayfield has sold his entire racing operation. Mayfield had previously stated that he would not look to return to the sport as a team owner. He just wants to drive.
The operation was purchased by John Carter and one of the cars was actually used by Terry Labonte yesterday at Indianapolis. Labonte finished 33rd and the team pocketed $144,000! Carter said that Mayfield driving was never even discussed as part of the deal. Probably a good move on his part.
