Monday Shopper: She Wants You To Get A Minivan? We Can Help: Bisimoto’s 1,029 Horsepower Honda Odyssey Is Going Up For Auction!

Monday Shopper: She Wants You To Get A Minivan? We Can Help: Bisimoto’s 1,029 Horsepower Honda Odyssey Is Going Up For Auction!

While I was at the Mopar Nats this weekend, I got the chance to catch up with a friend that I haven’t seen in several years. When he rolled up, I was (almost) saddened that his familiar black and silver Dodge Neon SRT-4 didn’t come with him…even with as much crap as I gave this guy over his car, it certainly would’ve been a positive step past the rolling appliance he drove in. And I don’t mean to use him as an example, because I’ve heard this story over and over: get married, have kids, and suddenly the hot rod has to go and the next thing you know, a people mover that has all the soul of a stale McDonald’s french fry is sitting in the driveway. Why? Because of words like “five star safety rating”, “responsible adult”, and “Consumer Reports said it was the best, so that’s why we are buying it.”

Here at BangShift, we would prefer to see the family people mover look more like the Chevy wagon owned by Chad’s wife, but realistically, he married an anomaly. Most guys, if they dragged home a fifty-year-old station wagon and said they were going to put the kids inside, would soon be hearing ten kinds of holy hell as the wife packed the kids up to go to her mother’s. But we have a solution, and it involves a maroon Honda Odyssey minivan. It even has the built-in vacuum still installed and a roof carrier. In all fairness, she who is dictating what set of wheels the family truckster should be should love it…right up until she sees the built-in roll cage, the intercooler that could take care of a dump truck, the Ferrari-like rolling stock, and the Racepak gauge system. She might not dig the fact that this Honda makes you row your own six gears. And she will probably come apart at the seams when she figures out that this freak of nature is packing enough horsepower to make Porsche guys duck and run.

If this van isn’t familiar to you, this is Bisimoto’s Honda Odyssey that was built for the SEMA show. The V-6 engine that originally came with the van is still there, but is built to kill with a massive Turbonetics turbocharger and a myriad of other modifications, including the Acura TL Type-S six-speed swap that looks like a factory unit. On it’s tame setting, you only have 600 horsepower at your disposal. The moment you want to guarantee that the little ones will shut up, the top tune can be used, and that brings 1,029 horsepower to the party, most of which will be spent turning the front tires into dust. And yes, you can bring the kids: the Odyssey sports full interior covered in custom leather.

If you have the ability to convince your significant other that this will make an excellent family wagon (or have the desire to tempt divorce court), you can hit up Mecum Monterey between August 18-20th, 2016 and wait for lot# T182. Good luck, happy bidding, and for the love of everything holy, if one of you readers actually takes this monster home, let us know. We will pay good money to rent your van and services for an event!
