I truly wish I had run into the owner of this truck and trailer combo that I spotted on the salt yesterday. Why? I would have laid a solid man hug on him because the whole package is pretty much perfect. The truck is a big 1967 International 4×4 truck that hauls a vintage Shasta trailer that provides the sleeping quarters for the folks cruising in the truck. It would have also been nice to find the guy so I could get some real specs on the truck but from crawling under it I found that the machine has an LS engine making its power, it has a gear jamming manual transmission, and what looked to me like an awesome Atlas transfer case.

The body of the truck is perfectly weathered and it has its share of dents and dings but the thing looks straight out of the playbook of awesome old western trucks that are weather beaten but not rotted or messed up in any way. Using the factory wheel covers, keeping the old school tow bumper, and sticking with the narrow wheels that keep the tires in a perfect profile of tall and skinny make this one a real winner in our book.

I don’t know a ton of stuff about old campers but this ancient Shasta trailer has either been restored or has lived the most charmed life of any little travel trailer in the history of the world. Between the paint, the stainless, the wheels, and the rest of it, we’re loving the trailer. I didn’t want to peek into the windows but judging by the cool drapes, the inside of the thing is as nice as the outside.
