Richard Shute and Dave Kommel have been photographing drag races for decades. Several years ago they combined their talents to form the company Auto Imagery Inc. and since then have established themselves as the go to guys for shot of the NHRA tour. Their work can be found just about everywhere and some of their images have documented the wildest, most emotional, and most action packed moments the sport has had to offer.

The good news for us is that the guys have a commercial site where prints of their work are available to purchase, but more importantly they are available to click through and eat time off the boss man’s clock. They have a nostalgia gallery with some killer shots of ghosts of drag strips past, but their bread and butter is the more recent stuff, and it’s there by the truckload.

Not a huge drag racing fan? Who gives a rip. Even if you don’t dig the straight line stuff, you’ll have more fun checking these photos out than actually doing what “the man” orders you to do.
