Thanks to ace tipster Dave Wallace for this New York Times story regarding the new Camaro and its effects on the showroom traffic and sales at GM dealers. In a shocking turn of events, the story is positive.
Dealers say that they cannot keep the cars on the lot, and in a near dream scenario, the car is driving people into showrooms. Those people are actually considering and buying different models from the Chevrolet lineup. Obviously, this is not happening on a very large scale or we’d not be seeing the historically slow sales conditions we’re seeing now, but hell, we’ll latch onto nearly any positive news for a domestic car maker these days.
