As you may or may now know, BangShift is currently locked in a life and death struggle on the Summit Racing OnAllCylinders blog as part of the cool “Muscle Car Match Ups” competition. See, what we did was to field a team of four cars that Chad and I chose in a bracket style elimination tournament. Well, we’re down to the final four and we are in desperate need of your votes. The photo of Bill Lawton’s Cobra Jet Mustang below is no fluke because the car we have left in this fight is the famous but not all that well known Tasca KR-8. See, Tasca invented the Cobra Jet Mustang by taking 428 police interceptor engines and slamming them into Mustangs at his dealership. Ford got wind of this program and the mighty CJs were born. Our competition comes from the OnAllCylinders guys who have fielded a 1970 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda.
Those Hemi ‘Cudas are cool and all, but c’amon people. My seven year old would have made a more creative choice. Help us support a legitimately legendary car and push us into the final round. That matchup will be no slouch either because if we can manage to defeat the ‘Cuda we’ll face down either a Boss 429 Mustang or a Yenko 427 Nova.
