This German Built Hot Rod Is Road Legal Because Of Fenders N’ More!

The other day we got a note from Wes Nielsen at Fenders N’ More. Included in that email were the photos of the hot rod we’re going to show you below. It is a good looking car with its classic small block Chevy topped with a triumvirate of carbs, black paint with black steel wheels, and big ‘n littles to complete the look. At first glance you may think to yourself that it is a fenderless car but in reality, the machine is sporting a quartet of great fitting fenders from Fenders ‘N More. See, in Germany, as well as Australia, the U.K. and several other hot rod centric nations, even hot rods have to pass the country’s stringent safety standards and those standards are apparently not open to the idea of an open wheel car on the road. While we understand the thought process, that is certainly kind of a bummer for hot rod builder but that being said, this dude had the right idea.

According to Wes, the owner of this car is one of those “builder/seller” types who gets a car done, cruises it for a while, and then sells it to build another car. He’s been a customer of Fenders N’ More for years and as his tastes are suited to this era and style of car, he’ll continue to be a customer for years. Outside of the addition of the fenders about the only outward modern touch are the small and smartly places directional lights that sit just outside the front frame horns and on top of the tail lights at the rear of the body. We think that the car is neat and it is yet another example of the dedication of ‘rodders all over the globe to the spirit of the hobby. Pretty sweet that Fenders N’ More was able to supply him what he needed to make this suite Ford road worthy. Now….let’s see what that baby will do on the Autobahn!
