Holley has rolled out a neat new kit that allows for an electric choke equipped Holley carb to be modified so it will accept a throttle position sensor, necessary to make many modern transmissions fully functional. This is a neat solution that should solve the problems of car builders when mating new and old technology together.
As more and more people are bolting modern engines and transmissions into old cars, kits like this one from Holley are sure to become more common. Using an old school two or three speed transmission (outside of an all out racing application) with a modern means you may be leaving some performance on the table. Being able to use a modern slush box that uses more and tighter ratios, advanced electronic controls, and causes less parasitic drivetrain power loss only makes sense.
Rather than us blather, here’s the full release from Holley;
