A while back, Matt Graves of American Powertrain told Chad and I that there were working on some “cool stuff” but at the time he was not at liberty to expound on exactly what that stuff was. Well, here comes some of it now in the form of this new bell housing for Buick, Olds, Pontiac, and Cadillac engines. In typical American Powertrain fashion, they have combined the worlds of both OEM fitment and hot rodding to give you a piece that is stronger than a factory unit by lots but still fits like a glove.
More than just an announcement floating the idea out there, American Powertrain has these pieces on the shelf ready to ship right now. If you are wondering what transmissions these bell housings fit, the list is pretty long and awesome. Here goes: Muncie, Super T10, GM TKO, and GM LGT700 or GM Richmond. Long story shot, your bases are covered if you want to jam a man pedal and a shift lever into your classic BOP or Cadillac hot rod. That’s most excellent news if you ask us!

Unless it has an SFI number . . . pointless. 🙁
I was kind of thinking the same. There are still OE bellhousings available out there for $50-$100 and I don’t recall ever seeing one that broke. Cars capable of breaking them have long upgraded to a steel SFI scattershield.
Follow up question is, do they make a dust shield/inspection plate for the Buick guys? That alone might sell well as I don’t think there are any aftermarket ones for the right side starter guys.
Hey guys we do have the steel SFI rated BOP bells in stock. This is for the guy that wants an OE style bell. They are much improved over the factory casting and cost less than a steel bell. And believe it or not. Made in the USA..
