There’s nothing quite as juicy as two companies getting into a scrum over similar products, especially when one of them is a late arrival knock-off of the other. This is the case with Stromberg Carbs and Speedway Motors.
A while back we told you about Speedway rolling out its new 9-Super-7 carb. It’s basically a Stromberg 97 clone with some claimed enhancements.
Stromberg is not impressed and has published the findings of its research, comparing the two pieces together head-to-head. You’ll be shocked to find out they think their stuff is far superior.
Here’s the quote from Stromberg’s website, “Stromberg Carburetor is not associated in any way with the Speedway Motors 9-super-7 copy of the genuine Stromberg 97 carburetor. An independent evaluation and dyno test by a respected 97 authority is widely available on the HAMB and other internet forums, but if you’d like to download our own full comparison here – 50 reasons why the original and Genuine Stromberg 97 carburetor offers far better quality and value for money”
Here’s the link to the head-to-head comparison. You be the judge!
